Slurry Jet Erosion Tester

A Solid Particle Erosion (SPE) tester for testing erosion resistance when subjected to a jet of slurry.

  1. General Details

    Erosion leads to loss of life of components in machinery and pipeline which handle slurry. In order to maximize life, proper selection of materials that are used is required. The Slurry Jet Erosion Tester is designed for laboratory use, to characterize erosion behavior of materials used in various applications, ranging from transportation to power generation.


    PRECISE VELOCITY CONTROL

    A custom designed pressurization system allows the Slurry Jet Erosion Tester to reliably accelerate particles carried in water in a precise manner. The easy control interface allows users to conveniently adjust particle velocity to match their application

     


    PARTICLE FLUX CONTROL

    A specially designed particle dispenser is used to precisely control particle flux rate. The unique setup allows for the particles to be fed just ahead of the nozzle to ensure homogenous mixing before dispensing through the nozzle.

     


    EASY ANGLE ADJUSTMENT

    Wear behavior of bulk materials and coatings can vary greatly depending of the angle of impact. Adjusting impact angle is made easy with clear angle markers. A corrosion resistant fastening system makes the system reliable for long term use.

     


    LARGE TEST AREA

    A large and accessible test are makes setting up standard and custom test samples simple. The sample stage can be coupled with custom holders or be entirely replaced to accommodate unusually shaped or sized specimens.
